focused on development of artificial
intelligence (AI) powered digital solutions to a
growing population that is too frequently
overlooked and chronically underserved: people,
including seniors, who are blind or have a low
vision. This AI technology can enhance and
improve the lives of those people, to allow them
find rewarding careers, and to enjoy
recreational activities independently or with

Functionality
|
The system consists of
three main components:
- smart glasses with
two high definition
cameras providing output video
streaming;
- processing module that performs
streaming
and scene recognition (can
be either built-in or
developed as
smartphone application, using iOS or
Android OS);
- control module performing for easy
setup and
configuration of the device
(also based on
smartphone);
The processing unit is
trained using artificial intelligence
and neural network models to recognize
dynamic scenes, objects, faces, text,
etc., and to convert them to audio messages for blind persons or to
specific vibrations for deaf-and-blind
persons. The vibration device can also
be built into the handle of the
white-and-red cane.
The control module
is used to
setup or reconfigure the system, to
update the software, and to add additional functions
through different
levels of subscription. |

Requirements:
1. Application should support video stream
as an input of dynamic scenes.
2. The input is then used as a base for
system learning.
3. On the first stage the application will
recognize up to 100 objects
within
incoming dynamic scene and will
produce
an audio message to the
customer about
the object.
4. Basic functionality:
4.1. Dynamic scenes recording
and
recognition.
4.2. Object recognition within
the scene.
4.3. Event calls - conversion
of the
closest recognized object to audio
message.
4.4. Text recognition for a few
languages
(English, Spanish, and German) and
its conversion to audio message.
4.5. Face, currency, and color
recognition.

How it Works

Mission:
To develop a technology to enhance and
improve the lives of those who are blind or have visual
impairments, to allow them to enhance their education,
find rewarding careers, and to enjoy recreational
activities independently or with friends and family.
Problem Statement: According to the World Health Organization (WHO),
about 0.5% - 0.6% of the world population is blind. This problem
varies from 0.35% in industrial countries such as the United States and
Europe to 0.6% – 0.8% in underdeveloped countries in
Africa and Asia.
In absolute numbers there are approximately 37 - 45
million blind people in the world now, and this number is growing every
year.
Our Solution:
We offer these people
our unique hardware/software solution based on artificial intelligence
and neural network models. We are developing solutions for life's
little challenges that visually impaired people can use throughout the
day, from the moment they wake up until they fall asleep.
